After Rising Sun,,,

i am stepping down from organising events. the level of interest seems to have dropped considerably over the last few shows last year and its disheartening trying to organising these things at the best of times. however, i still appreciate the support i recieved while poorly organising the stands!

It will be a shame if the site is rundown.. ..but i do agree with Tom and Dave.......the level of interest is pathetic.....i spent most of last year going to the shows on my own.....i even attend meets with other clubs on my own......yet again i was the only J n C member at a meet last night.........it will be a great shame if the club is finished.......but Tom and Dave cannot be out of pocket.....and trying to organise meets etc is like trying to make people have teeth pulled......poor old Tom still hasn't recevied all the monies for the Rising Sun show.........nevermind......i'm sure we will all keep in touch....

would definatly be a shame if the club faded out as we all have a great time when we get together. personally i cant wait for the shows this year and hopefully the weather will be good for us, i now a have a little more spare cash available so will definatly attend more shows this year as that was the only reason i only made 2 last year. so come on peeps lets make this a great year. remember the good old days of sun, beer, cars and models, well lets get back on track and start this next decade in style!!!!!

Couldn't agree more, just spent 8 months building a zed too .

One of the things that is unique to this club is the diversity of it's members. So many different people with different interests and cars. This is one of the main attractions to many us, a much more pleasant atmosphere compared to many of the car specific clubs. It's been a long cold winter and an even longer recession, which has effected many members i'm sure. I'm sure the club can survive this and grow even stronger. I for one would be happy to donate some funds to the club if it's struggling in any way. It would be great to see us all at the shows with a banner on the marque, and like i said, i'm happy to get a load of JnC ID badges printed up for the big shows.

I know that collecting funds for shows has always been a thankless and painfull task for those that have done it. We are all gratefull though, perhaps it's not said enough. Maybe we just need a different approach, how do other clubs address this problem? Maybe if we had a club fund 'float' that would cover a stand at every major show, those that attend up to the booked number split the cost of the stand for that show - which replenishes the float for the next show? I'm sure we can think of something so people like poor old Tommo don't have to be put out.

Lets have a show of posts at least in support of continuing the club..

I also think we should all be more positive with regards to meets etc..............i further think we should have a members meet to fully discuss methods of improving the club and wys of assisting with the running of the club both from a finance and morally supportive stance........it shouldn't be left for Dave and Tom to have to sort out.......
I too would be saddened by the demise of the club,but in order to survive we are going to have to improve our own member management....people need to be more positive about show/meet attendences and should be prepered to commit and pay very early to ensure securement of a show stand......i can fully understand Daves thoughts on site closure,as it's a lot like having the expense and labour of running a public swimming pool,only to have two people turn up to use it..........
