I'd like your opinions on an exhaust. After listening to your cars over the weekend, I've realised mine is quiet, it gets loader at 3K plus but very quiet otherwise. But should I upgrade? I'm thinking of this:
32009-BN002 INFINITI G35 Coupe 2003-2006 ; Full Dual Polished SUS304 Stainless Steel Piping w/Dual Titanium Tips (adjustable length), Includes H Pipe - Does Not Fit Optional Rear Active Steering Package
On this site
www.hksusa.com/products/?id=715
trouble is I've spend a load recently on car stuff, and this gets very expensive when you add import duty/VAT, shipping etc. So it has to be worth it. Is it really worth it??? I'm running out of money!!! But damm it I can't stop this modding bug (and you can't even see the exhausts !!!)
Also, what does it mean "Does Not Fit Optional Rear Active Steering Package on this site" anyone know??
Thanks
Stu.

Do you know if your exhaust at the moment (The actual pipework under the car, not the tailpipe trims) is ordinary steel or stainless?
A lot of people say that upgrading the exhaust on your car is a good start, as it makes the whole respiratory system for the car less restrictive, so the exhaust gases will flow quicker. Therefore it gives the engine more potential with other modifications.

How do I know if I have Steel or Stainless Steel? Is SS better due to weight or corrosion or something else then?
I dunno whether it is worth it :-/ :-/, got a lot of major expense comming up, wife want a new car , house stuff, etc

Stainless steel will be shinier
If you want another, possibly cheaper alternative, you could have a look at getting a custom made system over here for your car, for example Phil at Unique Exhausts in stafford does pretty much all our exhausts, and made Ian (RaceworX) a custom exhaust system from the catalytic converter back to the tailpipe for a very reasonable price, just the other day.
What car does your wife have at the moment?

Might be worth wainting, as you dont need an exhaust right now.
And it did sound very nice when you were slipping up the hill
Thanks, I glad you're telling me not to do it.
Slipping up the hill - pretty embarrasing. I thought I'd go slow and steady, I should have done what others did and just go fast and get the momentum going. Oh well, that's rear wheel drive for you. Is everyone else in the club four wheel or front wheel then? Didn't anyone else struggle??

I think that the rear steering racks take up more room under the car so the exhaust on those models fits around them, whereas this one doesnt?
Stainless steel will be shiniermild steel gets rusty and breaks after a while, stainless is better protected and (correct if wrong) has better flow properties as the surface is smoother? Not sure on that one though.

Thanks Corbs, I think I might wait as gtir350 (is that Dave?? - I can't match up forum names to real names) suggested.
My wife - I'm further embarrassed to tell you what she drives. It was her choice, I said choose a car, so she walks into the nearest Vauxhall dealer and buys a Meriva. Urrgh. It is a horrible car in every respect. Though it is reliable, it's incredibly dull. Now it comes to finally getting rid of it, we are arguing about the next one - Perhaps I should just keep out of it like last time. (But then I'm paying half!!)

Or just get that supercharger kit (the one that the guy said takes just 2 hours to fit).
POWA!!!!!!
As if......
Don't you have to "re-enforce the rods" and change the "internals" whatever the eck all that means plus tuning etc. I have an online mate with the same car in London who has been researching for months to get a decent FI setup and tuner. I think he is looking at an APS TT now and has asked me to meet up when he's done. It's big money I think and I'd perish in it.
What is POWA??
