The Rex!!

For all you peeps who haven't seen her, or just can't remember what she looks like, this is my Rex.







She's been feeling a little left out recently, as Missy has taken all the attention!! So I decided to give her a bit of TLC and treat her to a few new bits!!

First to arrive was this.



It's a fog light from an RX8. I'm planning on mounting it in the rear lower valance, just below the number plate, as shown below!





Next to arrive was a new gear knob.



It's the gear knob from a 5 speed RX8, I got it because like the fog light, it is rotor shaped, I like rotors!!

I also recieved this!



A brand new leather gearstick gaiter to replace the tired looking one that's on at the moment.

Fog light is a project for another day when I have more time, so today I tackled the gearstick gaiter and knob!!

Easy enough, removed the old gear knob which has seen better days!!





Then flipped the centre console off to geto the gaiter.





Undid the three, (there should be four but one's missing!!), screws and inspected the gaiter for wear and tear. Which I definitely found!!



Then just attached the new gaiter to the plastic mount, and tried it all on for size!! This is what she looks like!!





Looking good!! Just need to do a bit of fettling to get it all sitting right. The new gaiter needs to be glued into the plastic ring that seats in on the gear stick, and I need to try and adjust how far the new knob goes down the gear stick. It seems to leave an unsightly gap when the car is actually in gear!! Will have a look at that tomorrow or Friday I reckon!!

Got a few other things planned for her this year, but will have to wait until after my holiday as funds are running short just now!!
