SOOO Close but alas the little swift failed the mot today on the bright side it failed on very minor things, side light bulbs are aparrantly blue. N/S headlamp aim too high and the N/S wing mirror glass is broken therefore affecting the rear veiw, although they went on to say it would have passed on that if the glass had completly fell out - how does that not affect the rear veiw i will never know,

oh well a few simple fixes and a quick re test and hopefully be good for another year

MOT manual states that you need a drivers side mirror plus 1 other (nearside or rear view), but if fitted they must be in good working order. So if the glass wasn't in the N/S it would have passed as there would be no mirror fitted. The busted glass makes it a fail.

Seems odd, but them's the rules.

yeah same as the old spare tyre rule if its there it needs to be useable and if it aint they cant fail it.

Got it thru the re test today a quick turn on the headlight adjuster a bulb change and a spot of mirror removal and I got a nice new 12month mot

Now I can continue with tidying the various bits on the little workhorse
