its one of those things no one likes to look for so i thought if people just list up who they are insured with and the phone number / web site then it may help fellow members get a good quote, as we all know jap imports are hard to insure especially if young.

i will just update this first post with details as people post.

Only two companies were able to offer me anything, one of them you have - Adrian Flux and the other which is very good is A-Plan Insurance. (If you mention Skyline Owners club to Adrian Flux they are supposed to give you 10% off. Doesn't matter what you drive !!)

Im not sure on that one - i called probably around 40
insurance companys yesterday after being told by the post
office in the last three months my premium has gone up from 1600 to 2500!
Bare in mind that is on a third party fire and theft policy with no
extras so save your ass in the event of an accident!
I searched all day long - most companys told me they wouldn't
insure me untill i was 21 on my crx - some of them said the mods were
rediculous for someone of my age - and some comapnys wouldn't insure me
at all - while others were quoting me 3500 pounds!

Then at 8 pm - i found an insurance company called Dolic! I had never heard
of them before - but basically when they quoted me 1600 a year - i was not
going to say no - it comes with a courtesy car in the event that my car is
off the road - other drivers added to my policy at no extra cost after 3 months
- break down cover - all within the fire and theft policy - 75 thousand pounds
worth of legal cover might i need it - so Raymond is offically insured
(as of this sunday) :D

Just needs his tax disc now - its been an expensive journey trying
to get that car back on the road - but finally - were their! :D

will be on the road the following weekend -

and making its first trip to meet you crazy bunch the weekend after
- you know your excited :P

I was on National Farmers Union to begin with, under my Dad's name, but they won't have me as main driver until I'm 21.

I changed to RAC who gave me the best all-round quote (18yrs old, 0 NCB, 0yrs driving) at £1600 which is still £1 for every CC! But it came with all-important legal cover and courtesy car on 3PFT. Also you can pay in 2 instalments for £10 extra which helps.
Also I added my girlfriend and my mum to the policy and got £100 back!
For the 2nd year I was getting quotes for about £800 3PFT, so rang RAC up and they told me that it would be £500 fully comprehensive! With legal fees etc included! I was chuffed!

What a stupid sig.

I'm at £400 per year fully comp on my soop, but only because I was doing such a high mileage when I took the policy out. Should be able to get it on classic next year with agreed value and a lower limit.

While we're talking about insurance, I think I should post this link about a member of the mk3 owners club, and his battle with Groupama insurance. It's worth a read, and consider if this could be something that may affect you.
