Dakar 2012....

Been watching this since the start a couple of ays ago........stil the best Rally of all time........The 4x4 Minis are doing really well at present,but it's early days and the terrain is pretty reasonable at the moment......check it out if you can...it's on most days on the Eurosport channel....

I've been watching the D1 as well... .........Dakar is a hard spectator sport to follow, due to its stage lengths(300-500kms) and cameras mainly limited to Helicopters.......it tends to really just be a few interviews and highlights.......the Minis are just about in front at the moment,but this is only really due to very good flat early surfaces......the Hummers massive power and suspension travelreally came into there own last night when on stage eight they blew past the Minis like they were stationaryon the more rougher "flat" trails.......stage eight was won by the Hummers chopping the overall lead by the Minis to only 5 minutes....
